K-2 Experienced Teacher for an Engaging, Innovative, And FUN Kids STEM Center!

Do you love working with kids and technology and have previous experience in Early Childhood Education, teaching K-2 grades, have experience working with children in a preschool setting, enjoy creating STEM activities, and willing to learn basic coding? What are we looking for?
Code Ninjas Saint Johns is currently hiring for an experienced K-2 Teacher for our new JUNIOR Program who can help create a fun and safe environment where children ages 5 to 7 can explore basic coding and STEM activities. This Juniors Teacher will be responsible for monitoring and teaching Code Ninjas JR program as well as developing a curriculum to support their technological development. We will train you, but experience in coding and/or STEM is a huge plus! Part-time hours are centered around Saturday mornings to start, with the potential weekday afternoons (after 4 pm), and more as this program grows. 

We are looking for an experienced educator who is highly engaging and dynamic with a forward-thinking mind.

Responsibilities of the position include:

·       Engaging students, answering questions, and assisting with problem-solving

·       Creating a positive and safe environment in which students can grow

·       Leading group lessons, activities, and classes - some lesson planning will be needed but we provide the technology and resources.

·       Communicating with parents about lessons

·       Collaborating with the hands-on center owner and Center Director to enhance the program

Qualifications required:

·        Experience working with groups of K-2 students
·        Equivalent to a Bachelor or higher in Early Childhood Education; or in the process of obtaining an equivalent degree

·        No coding experience required but a huge plus

·        Enthusiastic about working with kids; mentoring and teaching

·        Patient, kind, and understanding

·        Works well with others; collaborates and takes pride in their work

·        Energetic, upbeat, and fun individual with a passion for technology and learning

·        Willing to learn basic coding and explore new technology
